As one of the UK's most respected makeupfx and prop company's, Liverpool based MAKEUPSFX have been creating leading edge makeup, makeup special effects, prosthetics and props for TV and film for over 20 years. Along the way they have garnered many major industry awards and nominations - an Emmy (Life and Death of Peter Sellers), Royal Television Society (Bodies) and Welsh Bafta (Dr Who) among them.
Now, together with wife Lin Davie, herself an award winning makeup designer with an impressive CV, Davy Jones has set up a new workshop and coming soon a Makeup School, situated slap bang in the heart of Liverpool’s vibrant city centre, from where they will continue to design and produce world standard makeupsfx, makeup special effects, prosthetics and props. Also on the horizon is the opening of The MAKEUPSFX School which will enable students to learn, hands-on, the key skills required in today’s ever more demanding TV and film industries.

While it’s always good to know that the quality of your work can impress your peers and win you an award or two, we’ve been in this business long enough to know that production budgets are being squeezed ever tighter. We’re realistic about it and will always endeavour to make the most of your budget, however small. If it can be done, MAKEUPSFX are here to do it for you.
We will always oblige with a free consultation to chat through a script, ideas and costings and, if the budget is tight, our vast experience ensures that we’ll likely be able to offer a workable solution that won’t look low-budget.
