Our intensive courses are specifically designed to give students an in depth and hands-on understanding of Prosthetics techniques and will cover everything from basic sculpting and mould making through to the final manufacture, painting and application. While working on a personal course project, students will learn, first hand, the basic principals and techniques used throughout todays television and movie industries worldwide.

Four Weeks FX Course - Starting Mon 6th September 2010

Five days a week - 10:30am to 4:30pm 

Week One

• Creating and designing a wound
• Sculpting techniques in oil based clays and waxes
• Moulding a scar in plasters, fast cast resin, and silicone
• Running the wound in gelatine and silicone
• Art work and finish

Week Two

• Casting finger / hand
• RTV silicone mold
• Run in prosthetic material
• Seam repair
• Artwork and finish

Weeks Three and Four

• Design and produce an industry standard  prosthetic from scratch
• Life casting
• Creating the positive
• Sculpting
• Moulding
• Running the prosthetics
• Application
• Colouring
• Removal
